After a week of fun and excitement in Puerto Vallarta, I needed to go somewhere quieter and less crowded. So I headed to Melaque. For many years, I have been coming to this town and to the neighboring town Barra de Navidad. However, things have changed a bit this year since I now have an ex-husband in one town and an ex-boyfriend in another. Now it looks like I'll be sharing paradise with them and their significant others. This should be interesting. I definitely should qualify to have my own reality show by now. 😉

Perfect Puerto Vallarta Day
After arriving late last night following a delayed flight and a nerve-wracking landing, today turned out to be a day full of discovery and enjoyment in Puerto Vallarta. I walked an impressive 16,000 steps as I explored the town, especially drawn to the vibrant Zona Romantica district. There, quaint cafes and colourful street art that showcased the local culture.
Later in the day, I unwound at a beachside restaurant, savoring fresh seafood with my toes in the sand, all while listening to the calming sound of ocean waves.
The day ended perfectly with a relaxing evening by the pool under a starry sky, enjoying a game of Yahtzee with new friends.
Puerto Vallarta has already shown me its magic, and I am eager to discover more in the coming days. Here’s to the beginning of what promises to be an unforgettable vacation in paradise.

A Fresh Start
After a bit of a hiatus, I'm ready to share the rollercoaster ride of my past year. It has been a mix of highs and lows. I experienced loss and love, heartbreak and joy, welcoming a new grandchild, turning 50, moving to a new city, and becoming a homeowner again.
Last winter was particularly tough. I was mourning my mom's passing and dealing with a breakup while staying in Barra de Navidad. Blogging felt impossible, so I only managed to post a highlight video. Sadly, Frida, the rescue dog featured in that video, passed away from Ehrlichia, a tick-borne disease. Despite months of treatment, she was too far gone when I found her. However, on a happier note, I was able to find a loving home for a sweet Doberman puppy with a local surfer. She’s going to have an amazing life.
Now, I'm in a much better place and preparing for a three month trip to Mexico, starting in Puerto Vallarta. Last year’s trip was overshadowed by grief, but I’m back to my happy, adventurous self. I'm looking forward to lots of fun, live music, dancing, meeting new people, delicious food, exploring markets, and sightseeing. I can’t wait!
