Mom's on Skype :)
After a few lessons on how to sign in, make a call and answer a call, my 83 year old Mom is up and running on Skype. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? (She's gonna say "Hey I'm not an old dog!" lol) Ok Mom you're not an old dog. You're a cool senior!
So happy I'll be able to see her smiling face while I'm in Mexico. Mom's are the best.

And the word for today is...Ewww
I just drank my Dukoral vaccine in all it's effervescent glory. It's meant to prevent travelers diarrhea. It took me half an hour to finish it. After tasting that bad it better work. Yuck!

Of course I can!
I'm divorced, single, all my kids have grown up. My life is pretty simple and pretty boring. I go to work, come home, eat dinner and repeat. So what's a bored girl to do? A bored girl house sits in Mexico for 6 months! It's something I've been talking about for years now. I thought it was a fantastic idea. I think other people thought I was nuts and that I couldn't pull it off until I was retired at 65. Well guess what? I'm 45 and I'm going in a few weeks. There was no way I was waiting until I was retired. No thanks. The time to live is now. Too many people put things off, life happens and they never get to fulfill their dreams. I'm not one of those people. Once I get an idea in my head I figure out what needs to be done and I do it.
For this newest adventure my first task was finding people who needed a house sitter. I jumped on online and found a house sitting site specifically for Mexico. I joined the site, paid a small fee, then applied to a bunch of ads. I included a short bio and photos of myself with each email. Within a few days I received several house sitting offers. One of the houses was in Barra de Navidad, a small fishing village a few hours south of Puerto Vallarta. Perfect. I'd been there a few years ago and I knew the area well. Barra it is.
180 days in Mexico. I can't wait!

So that's it. I've bought my tickets. I'm packing up my apartment and putting everything into storage. I found somewhere to park my car. I gave notice at work. My new passport has arrived. I'm outta here! On June 3rd I'll be flying off to Mexico. Ahhh paradise. I'm excited. I'm booked to be there from June 3rd to November 30th. Exactly the 180 days allowed on a Mexican tourist visa.
